This article talks about Bihar’s new industrial parks and how they will boost employment and investment in the state.
Bihar is changing! Under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s leadership, the state is stepping out of its old image of being backward, and is now focusing on becoming an industrial hub for small and medium businesses. The government has decided to acquire 7700 acres of land to set up 17 new industrial parks, costing around Rs 3500 crore.
This significant move is expected to attract investments of about Rs 1.80 lakh crore, which will create job opportunities for many young people in the state. Districts like Buxar, Muzaffarpur, Gaya, Vaishali, and Begusarai are particularly in focus, with plans to develop them as industrial centers.
Muzaffarpur is being planned as a major industrial hub for North Bihar. A large industrial park is coming up on 701 acres in Paru block, with an investment of Rs 297 crore. This park will include rice mills, food parks, and agro-based industries, alongside essential facilities like roads and electricity. Similarly, a Mega Food Park on 800 acres in Motipur will provide various food processing units.
Buxar, known for its rich history, is now becoming an industrial zone too. Pepsi and Coca-Cola are setting up bottling plants in Navanagar, with an investment of around Rs 1658 crore. This initiative is seen as a strong step toward Bihar’s industrial growth and will offer jobs to local youth through ethanol-based industries.
In South Bihar, Gaya is set to develop a 1700-acre industrial estate, while Vaishali will have 1100 acres dedicated to industry. The new Pepsi bottling plant in Begusarai will also benefit local farmers. Overall, Bihar aims to increase its industrial areas from 46 in 2005 to 94 by 2025, making it one of the top investment-friendly states in India.
