Dialogue Source, Palasi (Araria): Police in Palasi have registered a case against four individuals who made videos of themselves brandishing pistols and shared them on social media. The case was filed based on a statement given by Police Station President Shiv Shankar Kumar. The accused have been identified as Armaan, Akshay Kumar Mandal, Dheeraj Yadav, and Shabbir.
Airman with pistol Armaan is currently on the run. According to Police Station President Shiv Shankar Kumar, the police team went to Kaliaganj to identify the youth seen in the viral video. The youth was later identified as Mo from Kaliaganj. However, by the time the police reached his house, he had already escaped.
The accused who made the video with a “Katta” (a crude firearm) have been arrested. The police team, along with a “Desi Katta”, went to Sohagpur village and apprehended Akshay Kumar Mandal, the person responsible for sharing the viral video. They also seized the mobile phone used to record the video. During interrogation, Akshay revealed the name of another youth, Dheeraj Yadav, who is currently at large.
Further investigation led to the discovery that the “Katta” belonged to Shabbir from Kankhudia. However, when the police surrounded his house, he managed to escape. During the search of his house, an airgun, two live cartridges, and tools used for weapon manufacturing were found. It became apparent that Shabbir was involved in the illegal arms trade, as it was discovered that some of his relatives had previously been imprisoned for the same offense.
Akshay Kumar Mandal, who was arrested in connection with this case, has been presented in the Araria court. The police are continuing their efforts to apprehend the remaining accused.
