Alert for Rain in 34 Districts of Bihar Today
Today, the weather in 34 out of 38 districts of Bihar is expected to be rainy. While Sitamarhi, Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga, and Samastipur are not forecasted for rain, the impact of surrounding districts may reach here. By 10 am, it is predicted that there is no specific alert for rain in 20 districts, but rain may occur during the day. These districts include Kaimur, Rohtas, Aurangabad, Buxar, Bhojpur, Arwal, Jehanabad, Nalanda, Nawada, Jamui, Lakhisarai, Sheikhpura, Begusarai, Khagaria, Munger, Banka, Katihar, Purnia, Kishanganj, and Araria. In the remaining 18 districts of the state, there is an alert for rain since morning. While heavy rainfall is not expected, caution is advised to avoid casualties due to lightning strikes.
Minimal Rainfall in Bihar in the Last 24 Hours
According to records from the Indian Meteorological Department, Bihar experienced a rainy environment in the last 24 hours, but the rainfall was minimal. More than half of the areas did not receive any rainfall. In the districts where rainfall occurred, most places received rainfall between 0.1 to 15.5 mm. Some districts experienced rainfall between 15.5 to 64.4 mm. Such minimal rainfall is considered below normal to normal rainfall.
Weather Forecast for Bihar in the Coming Days
While today’s forecast indicates a possibility of rain in 34 districts of Bihar, tomorrow, on Wednesday, there are chances of rainfall in Eastern Champaran, Western Champaran, Gopalganj, Siwan, Saran, Bhojpur, Aurangabad, Jehanabad, Buxar, Rohtas, Kaimur, Gaya, Begusarai, Lakhisarai, Patna, Sheikhpura, Nalanda, and Nawada, among others. Heavy rainfall alerts have been issued for Aurangabad, Rohtas, and Kaimur. There is a risk of lightning strikes in all these districts, with higher concerns in three specific districts. The current forecast does not show any alerts for rain from Thursday to July 10, but this may change in the future.
