Bihar Weather Forecast

The weather department has predicted moderate to heavy rainfall in Bihar for the next four to five days. This rainfall can be beneficial for agriculture, although there is no forecast for heavy rain. The monsoon trough line is currently outside Bihar, leading to a yellow alert being issued for eight districts, including Patna. Heavy rain and lightning are expected today, with similar conditions likely for the next two to three days.

Weak Monsoon Conditions

Bihar is likely to continue experiencing weak monsoon conditions due to various weather factors. While some districts saw rainfall on Monday, most districts did not. So far, Bihar has received 31% less rainfall than normal, indicating a significant weakening of the monsoon in the state.

Resumption of Rainfall in Bhagalpur

After several days of continuous rainfall, Bhagalpur had clear weather on Monday. However, the monsoon trough line is active between Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha, with the possibility of moving towards northern India. Starting from August 7th, Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, and adjacent states are expected to experience moderate to heavy rainfall.

Advice for Farmers

The maximum temperature in Bhagalpur on Monday was 35 degrees Celsius, while the minimum was 25.5 degrees Celsius. Farmers are advised to complete the planting of paddy quickly to take advantage of the rainfall. They can also sow scented rice varieties. Priority should be given to controlling pests in the harvested rice crop.
