Bihar Weather Update: Cold Wave Affects Rural Areas and Farmers, Meteorologists Advise Precautions Amidst Fog and Low Temperatures

Bihar is experiencing a cold wave right now. The mornings are chilly with dew on the ground, and there’s a lot of fog in the air. The cold is particularly strong in the northern and western parts of the state, affecting both rural areas and cities like Patna, Motihari, and Gaya. Meteorologists say that cold winds from the Himalayas are causing this sudden drop in temperature.

This chilly weather is tough for farmers, especially since the Rabi crops are now at risk due to the cold. The Bihar Meteorological Service has warned that temperatures might drop even more in the coming days. Additionally, a weather change is expected around November 27-28, which could bring more clouds and alter wind patterns across the state.

In Patna, the falling minimum temperatures are making mornings and evenings feel even colder. The fog is making it hard to see on the roads, which is slowing down traffic. On days like this, the sun will eventually come out, with expected maximum temperatures reaching around 26 degrees Celsius, but the cool feeling will linger due to the winds.

The meteorological department predicts that nighttime temperatures might go down to 12 degrees Celsius. High humidity in the mornings means fog will stick around. Wind speeds are expected to be between 10 to 15 km/hr, which will add to the chill. However, today is good for travel as there’s no rain expected and most of the sky will be clear.

People are advised to dress warmly, especially in the mornings, by wearing light sweaters or jackets. It’s also important to drive slowly in foggy conditions and use headlights properly. The cold weather is likely to continue, with potentially harsher conditions expected by the third week of November, leading to more chilly mornings and low visibility on the roads.
