This article talks about the rescue of six young men from Bihar who were victims of a cyber slavery network in Myanmar and highlights the ongoing issue of human trafficking in the region.

Recently, six young men from Bihar were rescued from a place called KK Park in Myanmar. They were part of a larger group of Indians who were brought back to India after being trapped in a cyber slavery situation. The rescue operation took place after these youths were initially rescued from Thailand and flown to New Delhi on November 18.

These young men come from different districts in Bihar like Siwan, Gaya, Munger, Bhagalpur, and Sitamarhi. They are required to report to their local cyber police stations on November 24 for further questioning. This is to gather more information about the agents who tricked them into going abroad with false job promises.

The Economic Offenses Unit (EOU) has been actively working over the past few months to rescue several young people from Myanmar and Cambodia. In total, they have brought back 36 individuals in recent operations. This highlights a troubling trend where many youths from Bihar are being exploited by cyber criminals for illegal activities.

Investigations have shown that some agents are operating in Bihar and nearby states, luring young people with fake job offers. Once they reach Myanmar, their passports and phones are taken away, forcing them into online scams. The victims reported harsh treatment, including physical violence, if they failed to meet daily cheating targets.

As the EOU continues its investigation, they plan to collect statements from the victims to identify the middlemen involved. They are urging everyone to be cautious of job offers from countries like Myanmar and Thailand, and to verify the legitimacy of such opportunities before accepting them. It’s crucial to report any suspicious agents to the police to prevent further cases of cyber slavery.

Summary:

  • Six Bihari youths were rescued from a cyber slavery network in Myanmar.

  • They are required to report to cyber police for further investigation.

  • The EOU has rescued multiple victims from Myanmar and Cambodia recently.

  • Victims faced harsh treatment and were forced into online scams.

  • People are advised to be cautious about job offers from certain countries.
