What’s inside:

Bihar is experiencing severe cold weather with dense fog affecting visibility and daily life.

These days, Bihar is really feeling the chill. The weather is so cold that every breeze seems to send a shiver down your spine. It’s like the sun is hiding behind a thick blanket of fog that has wrapped the whole place in silence. For the past three days, fog has been hanging around many districts, including Patna, making everything look mysterious.

On Friday morning, dense fog covered over ten districts like Bagaha, Gopalganj, and Bettiah. The roads looked lost in the fog, and vehicles were moving at a snail’s pace. In the villages, people are gathering around bonfires at night to keep warm. The flickering flames bring a bit of comfort against the biting cold.

The weather department has said that this foggy situation will stick around for the next few days. Some areas, such as Madhepura and Nalanda, have been under this thick fog for almost 24 hours. The minimum temperature in places like Sabour and Aurangabad has dropped to around 8 degrees, marking the coldest days of the season.

Looking ahead, Patna can expect minimum temperatures of 13-14 degrees and maximums of 23-24 degrees. However, after December 19, the cold might intensify as northern winds are expected to pick up speed. The combination of chilly winds and high humidity is making the cold feel even harsher, especially in eastern and northern Bihar.

Interestingly, the Adhaura block in Kaimur has recorded the lowest temperature of 5.8 degrees Celsius. With westerly winds blowing at a speed of 30 km/hour, it seems that the real winter is just starting. Right now, there’s no sign of relief from this cold spell in Bihar.

Summary:

  • Bihar is experiencing severe cold with dense fog.

  • Visibility has dropped significantly in many districts.

  • People are using bonfires to stay warm during the night.

  • The weather department predicts fog will last for several days.

  • Expected temperatures in Patna will vary but may drop further after December 19.
