The Fisheries Department used to conduct auctions for the pond. However, the presence of land mafias was reported two years ago when an attempt was made to fill the pond. The matter was taken to court, but now the land mafias have once again succeeded in their illegal activities.

DM Rajeev Roshan has ordered a thorough investigation into the disappearance of the pond. The case is currently being heard in the Deputy Superintendent’s court. The DM has directed the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) to file an appeal in court and put a halt to any further activities at the site. He emphasized that all ponds in the city, including private ones, are part of the city’s greenery and must be protected.
