Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister, Samrat Chaudhary, recently spoke at the Bihar Idea Festival in Patna. He highlighted that Bihar is quickly progressing in industrial development. Thanks to the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, an industrial corridor is being built on 1,700 acres in Gaya. The state government has even added another 1,300 acres for this project.

Chaudhary mentioned that the needs of Bihar’s large population, which is around 14 crores, require more than just one corridor. He requested Union Minister Piyush Goyal to provide at least four more industrial corridors. Goyal, who attended the event, acknowledged this request and announced plans for four additional corridors across different areas in Bihar.

Chaudhary expressed gratitude to Goyal, noting that this is a significant moment for Bihar’s industrial growth under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s leadership. He emphasized that Bihar is now developing a robust network of roads, making travel faster across the state. Additionally, there are efforts to expand rail services, with 13 Vande Bharat trains currently operating.

As for job creation, Chaudhary stated that 17 ethanol plants have been established in Bihar, contributing to employment for 40 lakh people in the last five years. The aim is to create one crore government jobs and other employment opportunities by 2025-30. He also mentioned that Prime Minister Modi will lay the foundation stone for major schemes worth 50,000 crores in Purnia on September 15.

Lastly, Chaudhary shared that Bihar is generating and consuming 9,000 MW of electricity and is preparing a welcoming environment for industries. He believes that as Bihar thrives, it will contribute to the nation’s growth. The focus is on making industry a key part of Bihar’s identity.
