Patna’s Moinul Haq Stadium is set for a major upgrade, costing Rs 498 crore, with plans for completion in two years.

Big news for cricket fans in Patna! The Moinul Haq Stadium is going to get a complete makeover. The Bihar Cricket Association has wrapped up the tender process, and now the Shivansh Infrastructure Development Private Limited will handle the reconstruction. This is seen as a major step to bring international cricket back to Bihar.

The total cost for this renovation is Rs 498 crore. This investment is part of a larger push to improve sports facilities in Bihar, similar to improvements in rail and road transport. The upgraded stadium will feature modern amenities to host major cricket tournaments.

Construction work is expected to finish in 24 months, which means we can look forward to a new stadium within two years. The General Manager of BCA, Neeraj Singh, has mentioned that they’ve signed an agreement with the contractor to ensure work moves quickly.

The new stadium will be built according to strict international standards set by the ICC and BCCI. It will have between 9 to 16 center wickets, providing more pitch options for various matches without any hassle.

Before construction starts, the administration needs to deal with some challenges, like nearby metro works and police stations. A high-level meeting with the Sports Department is scheduled for February 11 to discuss these issues. With this stadium, young cricketers in Bihar will finally have access to international-level facilities.
