Bihar’s Mokama Assembly Seat Sees Leadership Changes Amid Investigation Into Violence and Murder Case

In Bihar, the Mokama assembly seat has been making headlines due to the ongoing election excitement for 2025. A violent clash between two groups related to the elections resulted in the death of Dularchand Yadav, who was supporting the candidate from the Jansuraj party. This incident led to rising tensions in the area.

Following Dularchand Yadav’s murder, there was a significant shake-up in the police department. Vikram Sihag was the Patna Rural SP at that time, but due to the serious nature of the case, he was removed. Young IPS officer Aparajit Lohan, from the 2020 batch, was appointed as the new Patna Rural SP to handle the investigation.

However, just two months into his role, Aparajit Lohan has now been transferred to Jehanabad. He was handling the case related to Dularchand’s murder and had taken charge after the arrest of Mokama MLA Anant Singh. Kundan Kumar has now taken over as the new Patna Rural SP and will continue to investigate the matter.

In the midst of all this, Anant Singh, who is a prominent leader and currently in jail, won the election against Veena Devi by a significant margin of 28,000 votes. He still needs to take the oath as MLA within the next five months or risk losing his position. His bail applications have been denied twice so far.

Aparajit Lohan is recognized as a dedicated and proactive officer, previously known for his strict approach while serving as the Patna Traffic SP. His efforts to improve traffic discipline gained him attention as he took action against many politicians and VIPs violating rules. The changes in police leadership and ongoing investigations are closely watched by the public.
