BJP’s Nishikant Dubey raised the issue of declining population of tribal communities in Jharkhand in Lok Sabha on Wednesday, demanding an investigation into the matter and implementation of the National Register of Citizens (NRC). Dubey highlighted that the tribal population in the state was 36% in 1951, but has now decreased to just 24%. He questioned why the population of tribal communities is declining while the population of other communities is increasing.
Dubey emphasized the need to understand why this situation has arisen and called for a comprehensive investigation into the matter. He expressed his disappointment that no concrete steps have been taken to address this serious issue despite raising it multiple times.
Dubey also mentioned the increase in incidents of infiltration by Bangladeshi immigrants in certain districts of West Bengal and Bihar, as well as in some areas of Jharkhand. He demanded a thorough investigation into these cases and urged measures to protect Jharkhand from infiltration by Bangladeshi immigrants.
