BJP Releases List of Candidates in Bihar
The BJP has released the list of all its candidates in Bihar for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The hottest seat in Bihar is considered to be Buxar, where the ticket of Ashwini Choubey, a minister in the Modi government, has been cut this time. Former MLA of Gopalganj and the state president of the Bihar BJP, Mithilesh Tiwari, has been fielded in the election.
Mithilesh Tiwari’s Political Journey
Mithilesh Tiwari hails from Dumaria village in the Bakunthpur Assembly constituency of Gopalganj district. He has been a BJP MLA from 2015 to 2020. Tiwari contested his first election on a BJP ticket in 2005 from Kuchaikot Assembly constituency in Gopalganj, where he faced defeat against a BSP candidate. Tiwari worked on strengthening the organization during his tenure with the BJP and was given a ticket again in 2015.
Challenges Faced by Mithilesh Tiwari
Although the BJP has given a ticket to Mithilesh Tiwari from Buxar, winning may not be easy for him. The Mahagathbandhan’s influence in the area, along with the debate of outsider vs local candidate, could pose challenges for Tiwari. Being a resident of Gopalganj, Tiwari’s outsider status may become an issue in the election.
