Gulshan Kashyap/Jamui: The same creature that caused actor Salman Khan to face humiliation was found in a village in Jamui. After entering a village, the rural residents attempted to catch it, and people started running around. Finally, the villagers managed to catch it. In fact, on Saturday morning in the forests of Jamui district, a black deer, also known as a blackbuck, wandered into rural areas. The rural residents tried to catch it, and people started chasing it. After running for a while, the deer got trapped in a swamp in a canal. Finally, the villagers managed to catch it and tied it up with a rope, during which the deer also got injured.
The Villagers’ Actions with the Deer
After catching the black deer, the villagers started helping it, showing kindness. The deer had several injuries and was bleeding. Some villagers provided initial treatment for the deer. However, later, the forest department was informed, and a team from the forest department arrived at the scene and rescued the deer. The deer will be treated and then released into the forests. Why the Black Deer is Special
The black deer, also known as a blackbuck or Indian antelope, is usually found in India, Pakistan, and Nepal. Currently, its population has decreased significantly, and it is listed under Schedule 1, which means hunting it is completely prohibited. It is worth mentioning that actor Salman Khan also faced a lot of trouble in the case of hunting black deer. Previously, it was frequently hunted, but now strict laws have been implemented to protect it. The black deer has the ability to change its color. Its color becomes completely black by the end of monsoon. However, in winter, its color starts to fade, and by April, it becomes completely brown.
Declining Population
According to officials from the forest department, around 200 years ago, there were around 4 million black deer in India. In 1947, their population had decreased to around 80,000. By 1970, only 20,000 to 22,000 black deer were left, and by the 2000s, their population had reached 50,000. Apart from this, the black deer also holds religious significance and is worshiped in many places. In Andhra Pradesh, the black deer has been given the status of a state animal, and the Bishnoi community worships the black deer. In Sanskrit, this deer is mentioned as “Krishna Mrig” and is believed to pull the chariot of Lord Krishna in Hindu ancient scriptures.
