Violent Clash over Land Dispute Leaves Two Brothers Injured
Two brothers were seriously injured in a violent clash over a land dispute in Mahauta village in the Thana area of Amarpur, Banka. Rajiv Lochan Kumar and his brother Priyaranjan Kumar were initially treated at the referral hospital in Amarpur. Due to the severity of their injuries, they were later referred to Mayaganj, Bhagalpur for further treatment.
History of Dispute Leading to the Clash
Priyaranjan Kumar explained that the dispute over land with Avadh Kishor Sharma had been ongoing for years in their village. The situation had escalated to violent clashes multiple times in the past. In 2019, Avadh Kishor Sharma and his relatives had shot Rajiv Lochan, injuring him. The case is currently pending in the Banka court.
Details of the Incident
Priyaranjan Kumar recounted that on Friday evening, he was in his field spreading manure when Avadh Kishor Sharma, Mukesh Sharma, Mithilesh Sharma, and others launched a sudden attack with sticks and rods, leaving him injured. Meanwhile, his brother, who was coming home from Amarpur after fixing an inverter on his bike, was also attacked by the same group and left injured.
Police Intervention and Legal Action
The villagers informed the police about the incident, and the injured were taken to the hospital for treatment. Priyaranjan Kumar has filed a written complaint at the police station. The police have stated that they are investigating the application submitted by the complainant. The clash, arising from a personal dispute, resulted in the injuries of the two brothers in Amarpur.
