The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has announced strict rules for the Matric (Class 10) exams beginning on February 17, 2026. With over 15 lakh students set to appear, the board has banned shoes and socks inside the exam centers. Students must wear only slippers or open sandals to gain entry. The administration aims to conduct a fair and cheating-free examination across all districts.

Strict Timings and Entry Rules for Students

The board has emphasized punctuality this year. For the first shift starting at 9:30 AM, students must enter between 8:30 AM and 9:00 AM. The gates will shut exactly 30 minutes before the exam starts. Similarly, for the second shift beginning at 2:00 PM, entry is allowed only until 1:30 PM.

Officials have stated that latecomers will not be entertained. Any student trying to jump walls or enter forcefully after the gates close will face serious consequences. Such actions will be treated as “criminal trespass,” and the student will be barred from taking any board exams for the next two years.

Security Measures and Candidate Details

A total of 15,12,963 candidates have registered for the Matric exams this year. To handle this large number, the board has deployed magistrates and police forces at every center. Two-level frisking will be conducted to prevent electronic devices or cheat sheets from entering the halls.

The ongoing Intermediate exams have already seen strict action against cheating. Authorities have caught several impersonators and expelled students for using unfair means in districts like Nalanda and Gopalganj. The same strictness will apply to the Matric exams to ensure the integrity of the process.
