To assist travelers struggling to find train tickets during the upcoming festival season, the Bihar State Road Transport Corporation (BSRTC) has announced a major relief plan. The corporation will run special bus services to ensure people can reach their homes for Holi without hassle. These buses will connect various cities in Bihar to major destinations across the country, including Delhi, Kolkata, and Chandigarh.

Routes and Operational Dates

The special bus services will operate from February 23, 2026, to March 23, 2026. This period covers 15 days before and after the Holi festival to manage the heavy rush of passengers. According to official data, approximately 65 buses will run daily under All India Permits.

Buses will depart from main terminals in Patna, Gaya, Muzaffarpur, Bhagalpur, and Purnia. The routes cover long-distance travel to the following major cities:

  • Delhi and Gurugram
  • Chandigarh and Ambala
  • Kolkata and Siliguri
  • Lucknow, Gorakhpur, and Kanpur

Booking Details and Facilities

Passengers can start booking their tickets from this Friday, February 6, 2026. Tickets will be available online through the official BSRTC website and third-party apps like RedBus and MakeMyTrip. Offline counters at major bus stations in Bihar will also issue tickets.

Regional Manager Pawan Shandilya stated that the fleet includes both AC and Non-AC buses with sleeper and seating options. To ensure a comfortable journey, the buses are equipped with modern amenities like Wi-Fi, mobile charging points, and CCTV cameras for security. The fare for routes like Muzaffarpur to Delhi is expected to be around ₹3,000 for Volvo AC service.
