Building Permit Fees Increased in Urban Areas of Bihar
The Urban Development and Housing Department in Bihar has raised the building permit fees in all urban areas, including Patna. The new fees, which have been fixed in three categories for each urban body, have increased by ten to fifteen times. The department has issued a notification regarding the fee hike, which will be charged per square meter at the time of map approval. Starting from January 1, 2024, the fees will automatically increase by 10 percent.
Patna Becomes the Most Expensive City for House Construction
Constructing a house in the Patna metropolitan area will now be the most expensive in the state. The building permit fees for constructing a two-storey building is set at Rs 100 per square meter, while for three to five storey buildings, it is Rs 150 per square meter, and for buildings higher than five storeys, it is Rs 200 per square meter.
The core areas under Patna metropolis, including Patna Municipal Corporation, Danapur, Phulwarisharif, Maner, and Sampatchak, will fall under the higher fee category. In other municipal corporation cities, the fees will be Rs 80 per square meter for buildings up to two storeys, Rs 100 per square meter for buildings from three to five storeys, and Rs 120 per square meter for buildings higher than five storeys.
In cities with Municipal Council, the fees will be Rs 60 per square meter for buildings up to two storeys, Rs 80 per square meter for buildings from three to five storeys, and Rs 100 per square meter for buildings higher than five storeys. For City Council cities, the fees will be Rs 40 per square meter for buildings up to two storeys, Rs 60 per square meter for buildings from three to five storeys, and Rs 80 per square meter for buildings higher than five storeys.
