Accused Surrenders in Danapur Court
An accused, wearing a burqa, surrendered in Danapur Court on Tuesday. He is accused of kidnapping and raping a minor. He had escaped from police custody during presentation in Patna Court premises and was brought back from Beur Jail. The police had received information about his surrender.
Attempt to Go Home Denied
The surrendered accused, Mohammad Asif, had applied to go home due to his father’s demise, but the jailer had rejected the request, asking for bribe. This led to his attempt to escape by providing soil.
Accused Fled from Police Custody
The accused, Mohammad Asif, had fled from police custody on Monday by deceiving the police near Patna Civil Court. He was accused of kidnapping a minor girl and committing sexual assault. He had taken the girl in an auto and disappeared during a conversation with her grandfather.
Disappearance in Auto
In March, an 11-year-old girl was going in an auto with her grandfather when Asif engaged in conversation with the grandfather and then disappeared with the girl. The incident took place while they were on their way to Danapur Auto Stand, where the grandfather started to pay the fare. Asif vanished with the girl during this time.
