Jharkhand Cabinet Meeting Today:
The Jharkhand Cabinet is set to make several important decisions in today’s meeting. Agreement may be reached on the modified proposal for the revised policy based on the returned records from the Raj Bhavan. The Governor has suggested amendments to this proposal, which could be decided upon in today’s Cabinet meeting. Once finalized in the Cabinet, it will be presented in the Assembly. The government is once again focusing on the local policy, along with other crucial decisions that may be agreed upon in today’s meeting.
Important Decisions in the Cabinet Meeting:
Today’s Cabinet meeting is expected to have a significant decision regarding the reservation for protesters in the state government jobs. A decision may be taken to provide a horizontal reservation of 5% for protesters in the third and fourth categories of government appointments. The reservation for posts and services in Jharkhand was amended in the Reservation Act of 2001. Agreement may be reached on this proposal in today’s Cabinet meeting.
Possible Decision on Reservation:
In addition to the reservation for protesters’ relatives, a decision may be taken in today’s Cabinet meeting to provide 5% horizontal reservation for women as well. The state government’s appointments have provisions for 26% reservation for SC, 10% for ST, 8% for Extremely Backward Classes, 6% for Backward Classes, and 10% for economically weaker sections. The construction of a new medical college and hospital with 500 beds in Bokaro is also expected to be agreed upon in the Cabinet meeting. The construction is estimated to cost more than 688 crores.
