Chakwara Village: The Hub of Cauliflower Seed Production in Vaishali District
In Vaishali district’s Chakwara village, known as the “Seed Village,” every family is involved in the production of cauliflower seeds. With their own branded seeds, these families supply cauliflower seeds across the country, earning substantial profits. Surprisingly, the villagers engage in farming not out of compulsion but as a successful means of employment.
Sanjeev Kumar: A Role Model for Seed Production
Sanjeev Kumar, a progressive farmer in Chakwara village, has become a role model for the entire community. Inspired by him, the villagers have started producing cauliflower seeds. The village’s common farmers also earn an annual income of around 1 million rupees through cauliflower seed production.
The Dedication of Chakwara Village’s Farmers
The villagers of Chakwara do not seek employment in other states. Regardless of their age, they diligently work in their fields as soon as they wake up in the morning. Amod Kumar Singh, a farmer in Chakwara village, explains that out of the 50 to 60 families in the village, each family cultivates cauliflower on 125 to 150 acres of land exclusively.
Arvind Kumar, a seed farmer, shares that Chakwara village has the highest production of cauliflower. He cultivates cauliflower seeds on his 8-acre farm and completes the seed production process within 7 to 8 months. Afterwards, the seeds are sold under various brand names, resulting in profitable returns. Similarly, Sunil Kumar Singh, another farmer in the village, also grows cauliflower and produces seeds. He mentions that early varieties of cauliflower seeds are prepared in the village, and most people prefer using these seeds for cultivation.
राजकुमार सिंह/वैशाली जिले के चकवारा गांव को “बीज ग्राम” कहा जाता है, क्योंकि यहां के लोग फूलगोभी का बीज तैयार करते हैं और उन्हें देशभर में सप्लाई करते हैं। इस गांव में 50 से 60 परिवार फूलगोभी की खेती करते हैं और सालाना 10 लाख रुपए कमाते हैं। चकवारा गांव के किसान संजीव कुमार को रोल मॉडल माना जाता है, क्योंकि उन्होंने पूरे गांव को फूलगोभी का बीज तैयार करने के लिए प्रेरित किया है। इसके चलते गांव के लोग दूसरे राज्यों में काम करने की बजाय खेती करके सफल रोजगार प्राप्त कर रहे हैं। इस गांव में फूलगोभी का उत्पादन सबसे ज्यादा होता है और यहां के बीज का इस्तेमाल भी ज्यादातर लोग करते हैं।
