Abhinav Kumar from Darbhanga: The Struggle of a Child
In today’s world, some people seem to have lost all sense of humanity. They see no innocence in others and show no compassion for their struggles. Mahavir, a 12-year-old resident of Jittugachhi in Darbhanga district, is burdened with the responsibility of providing for his family. He has left his studies to sell papads so that he can feed his five brothers and two sisters. Unfortunately, there are heartless individuals who take advantage of hard-earned money, such as when Mahavir’s earnings were stolen by some thugs.
Local Support for a Helpless Child
When Mahavir shared his story of selling papads to feed his family, the locals were moved to help. They saw the injustice done to him when his hard-earned money was stolen. The community came together to provide both Mahavir and another child with a hearty meal. This act of kindness restored a glimmer of hope in Mahavir’s eyes, contrasting with the cruelty he had experienced earlier.
The Need for Guardians for These Helpless Children
It is heartbreaking to see children like Mahavir forced to work at such a young age. The Department of Labor Resources must address this issue to prevent child labor and ensure that vulnerable children have proper guardians. In urban areas, there are many children like Mahavir who are either forced to work or exploited for labor. It is essential to provide support and protection for these helpless children to secure their future and prevent exploitation.
