Food Poisoning Incident in Kishanganj

In the Mahin village of Kishanganj Sadar block, more than 50 children fell ill suddenly after eating the mid-day meal at various affected middle schools, including Marwa Toli and Phoolbasti. They were immediately taken to Kishanganj Sadar Hospital for treatment.

Allegations of Contaminated Food

The parents of the children alleged that there was a worm in the mid-day meal and accused the school of serving contaminated food. This led to anger among the rural children and their families, who protested against the incident at the school.

Presence of Lizard in the Food

The headmaster of the school confirmed that a lizard was found in the food, which caused the children to fall ill. Following the deterioration of their health, ambulances were called from Kishanganj Sadar Hospital to transport the children for further treatment.

Upon inspection of the food, it was found that a lizard was present in the rice. As soon as the incident was reported, the local police from Town Thana took the sick children to the nearby hospital for treatment. The number of affected children continues to rise, prompting concern among the community.
