What’s inside:

A Chilean passenger was caught at Gaya Airport with illegal GPS trackers, leading to his detention and increased security measures.

At Gaya Airport, a Chilean man was caught trying to board a flight to Bangkok with two suspicious Garmin GPS trackers in his bag. This incident happened around 12:45 PM on a Sunday when he was going to take Thai Airways flight TG-328.

The airport’s security officer, Raju Kumar, noticed the suspicious items during an X-ray screening of the passenger’s hand luggage. When the officer checked the bag physically, he found the two GPS trackers but the passenger could not provide any valid documents for them.

Carrying such equipment without permission is against aviation rules. As a result, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) detained the passenger and handed him over to the local police for further investigation. This has raised concerns about security protocols at the airport.

Gaya Airport is known for being sensitive, especially with many international flights and Buddhist pilgrims passing through. The discovery of these devices has prompted tighter security measures to ensure safety for passengers and staff.

The police are now looking into why the Chilean national had these GPS trackers and if there are any other related activities. They are also contacting foreign embassies to gather more information about this case.
