Cold wave conditions have returned to parts of Himachal Pradesh due to the activity of western disturbances. The weather in Kullu and Lahaul Valley has deteriorated since Monday night, with fresh snowfall occurring in high-altitude areas including Baralacha. Meanwhile, Shimla and its surrounding areas have seen light clouds along with sunshine today. There are also chances of snowfall in Kashmir, with heavy snowfall possible in different places until 16th December. The impact of snowfall in the mountains is also being felt in the plains of Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Bihar, and Jharkhand, where temperatures are dropping.
According to the Meteorological Department, fresh snowfall has occurred in high-altitude areas including Rohtang, Baralacha, Seven Sister Peak, and Hanuman Tibba. The entire valley is experiencing cold waves due to changing weather patterns. In addition, a large number of tourists have flocked to Koksar to witness the snow, and there is also a significant influx of tourists at the North Portal of Sissu and Atal Tunnel.
The Meteorological Centre in Shimla has forecast light rain and snowfall in some parts of the state’s central and upper mountainous regions today. After this, there are chances of clear weather in the entire state from 13th to 15th December. There may be rain and snowfall in some parts again on 16th December. The forecast for the state is clear weather from 17th December onwards. The minimum temperature recorded in Shimla was 3.9 degrees Celsius, while Sundernagar recorded 0.1 degrees Celsius, Kalpa recorded -2.4 degrees Celsius, Dharamshala recorded 4.2 degrees Celsius, Una recorded 3.0 degrees Celsius, and Nahan recorded 6.1 degrees Celsius.
