Jharkhand is experiencing cold waves in the western and northern parts of the state. The cold air coming from the Himalayas has increased the chill in the state. Districts like Chatra, Garhwa, Palamau, Latehar, and Lohardaga are experiencing severe cold. People are facing inconvenience due to frost in the nights and fog in the mornings.

During the last 24 hours, Chatra district recorded the lowest temperature of 5.5 degrees Celsius. Several parts of the state recorded temperatures below 8.0 degrees Celsius. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for cold waves in the western and northern parts of the state, including Palamau and Chatra districts, for the next two days.

According to the Meteorological Department, partial clouds will appear in the sky of Jharkhand after two days, i.e., from 21st December. However, there will be no relief from the cold. The cold winds that follow snowfall in the northern and Himalayan regions of the country will also affect Jharkhand. Partial clouds will reduce the frost during the night but will increase during the day. The cold may intensify with the passing days.

The maximum temperature in the state has dropped by 3 degrees Celsius due to the cold winds blowing during the day. Ranchi and other parts of the state are also experiencing cold weather. The minimum temperature in Ranchi was recorded at 9.8 degrees Celsius, with slight fog in the morning.

Throughout the day, there was a chilling breeze, causing the maximum temperature in various cities, including Ranchi, to drop by 1 to 3 degrees Celsius. Lohardaga recorded the lowest maximum temperature at 19.3 degrees Celsius. Hazaribagh and Chatra also had lower maximum temperatures.

In Macluskieganj, the minimum temperature dropped to 5 degrees Celsius. The villages near the mountains recorded even lower temperatures. Throughout the day, there were discussions about the formation of frost from the dewdrops.

झारखंड के पश्चिमी और उत्तरी भाग में शीतलहर लोगों को परेशान कर रही है। हिमालय से आ रही सर्द हवा के कारण ठंड बढ़ी है। चतरा, गढ़वा, पलामू, लातेहार, लोहरदगा आदि जिलों में कड़ाके की ठंड है। पिछले 24 घंटों में चतरा जिला सबसे ठंडा रहा, जहां न्यूनतम तापमान 5.5 डिग्री सेल्सियस था। अगले दो दिनों में इन इलाकों में शीतलहर का प्रकोप जारी रहेगा। यहां सर्द और कुहासे के चलते लोग परेशान हैं। दो दिनों बाद आंशिक बादल छाएंगे, लेकिन ठंड से राहत नहीं मिलेगी। प्रदेश में दिन भर ठंड रही है और तापमान सामान्य से 3 डिग्री कम है। मैकलुस्कीगंज में न्यूनतम पारा 5 डिग्री रहा और वहां बसे गांवों में जमीं ओस की बूंदों के बर्फ बनने की चर्चा हो रही है।
