Weather conditions on 7th February were cold in the plains of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttarakhand, northern Rajasthan, and most parts of western Uttar Pradesh with temperatures ranging between 6-10 degrees Celsius, below normal. In the rest of Rajasthan, eastern Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and many parts of Madhya Pradesh, temperatures ranged between 11-16 degrees Celsius, which is 4-6 degrees Celsius above normal. IMD reported that a cyclonic circulation is present over West Bengal and the lower tropospheric levels.

The weather department has predicted the weather for the next 5 days. On 7th February, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain in Arunachal Pradesh. Similarly, there are chances of rainfall in West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Mizoram, Manipur, and Tripura. IMD stated that during 9-11 February, there is a possibility of light rain in different parts of northern India. Strong winds with speeds of 15-25 km/h are expected in the plains of northwestern India for the next 2 days. Dense fog is likely to persist in different parts of Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram, and Tripura during the morning hours of 8th and 9th February.

During the next 2 days, temperatures are expected to remain around 3 degrees Celsius in several parts of northwestern, eastern, and central India. There will be no significant change thereafter. Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi are likely to experience cold waves in different parts. Due to snowfall and rain in many parts of Himachal Pradesh, more than 470 roads, including four national highways, were closed on Tuesday. According to the State Emergency Operation Centre, 473 roads were blocked and 398 transformers and 38 water supply schemes were affected. In the past 24 hours, Khadrala received 4 cm of snow, Bharmour received 3 cm, Kufri received 2 cm, Gondla received 1.3 cm, and Sangla received 0.5 cm of snow, while Kalpa, Kukumseri, Narakanda, and Kelong experienced light snowfall. The local weather department has predicted dry weather in the state for the next six days, until 12th February.

Punjab and most parts of Haryana continue to experience cold weather. On Tuesday, the minimum temperature remained below normal. According to the weather department, in other parts of Punjab, the minimum temperature was recorded at 5.5 degrees Celsius in Amritsar, while Ludhiana and Patiala recorded minimum temperatures of 6.9 and 5.6 degrees Celsius respectively, which is three degrees below normal. In Haryana, Ambala recorded a minimum temperature of 7.9 degrees Celsius, while Hisar recorded a minimum temperature of 5.9 degrees Celsius, which is two degrees below normal. Karnal recorded a minimum temperature of 4.2 degrees Celsius, which is four degrees below normal. The joint capital of Punjab and Haryana, Chandigarh, recorded a minimum temperature of 7.5 degrees Celsius, which is two degrees below normal.

There was no relief from the severe cold wave conditions in Kashmir on Tuesday as most places in the valley recorded temperatures several degrees below freezing. According to the weather department, there was improvement in the weather on Tuesday morning in Kashmir. After cloudy skies for nearly four days, the sun shone in the valley. In south Kashmir, Pahalgam recorded a minimum temperature of 11 degrees Celsius below freezing and was the coldest place in the valley last night.
