BJP Supported JDU Candidate Wins Bhagalpur Lok Sabha Seat
Once again, the BJP supported JDU candidate has won the Bhagalpur Lok Sabha seat. JDU MP Ajay Mandal has registered victory on this seat for the second time. After a long time, this seat came into the Congress’ account in the Mahagathbandhan, however, the Congress candidate Ajit Sharma lost in the election. Following the loss, the Congress committee deliberated on it and held their candidate responsible for the defeat, attributing it to Sharma’s arrogant behavior.
Congress Holds Review Meeting After Defeat in Bhagalpur
After the unsuccessful candidacy of Congress candidate Ajit Sharma in the Bhagalpur Lok Sabha constituency, a review meeting was held by the Congress committee at the district Congress office on Sunday. The meeting was attended by all the block presidents of the Lok Sabha election area, officials appointed by the district Congress committee for elections, in-charges of 6 assembly constituencies, and senior leaders and workers of the district.
Allegations During Rahul Gandhi’s Rally in Bihar
During the review meeting, chaired by E Parvez Jamal and conducted by Mahesh Rai, members openly discussed their grievances and admitted to organizational mistakes and dissatisfaction with Sharma’s behavior. They cited Sharma’s arrogant attitude as a reason for the defeat. According to media reports, Sharma has also raised questions about the lackluster behavior of many party officials during the election.
Rahul Gandhi’s Rally in Bhagalpur
It is worth mentioning that the Congress used to have a strong hold on the Bhagalpur seat. However, since 1989, the Congress’ graph has steadily declined in the Lok Sabha elections, and now after a long time, the Congress had hopes of winning. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi held a rally in Bhagalpur, Bihar, but even his rally could not bring back a victory for the Congress in the region.
