Congress Claims Purnia Seat in Bihar
The Congress party has staked its claim on the Purnia seat in Bihar for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Pappu Yadav is the candidate being pushed by the Congress party for the Purnia seat. Amid ongoing discussions within the India Mahagathbandhan regarding seat sharing, the Congress has made claims on three seats in Bihar, including Begusarai, Katihar, and Purnia.
Seat Allocation in Bihar
Tejashwi Yadav has stated that seat allocations in Bihar will be finalized within two days. The BJP has already allocated seats in Bihar, with 17 seats going to BJP, 16 to JDU, 5 to Chirag Paswan’s party, and 1 each to Upendra Kushwaha and Jitan Ram Manjhi’s parties. Central Minister Pashupati Kumar Paras, a BJP ally, has not been given any seats, leading to his discontent.
Pashupati Kumar Paras’s Next Move
Sources suggest that Pashupati Kumar Paras may announce his resignation from the BJP along with his resignation as a central minister. He may also announce his decision to contest elections from the Hajipur Lok Sabha seat. Paras is reportedly in contact with the RJD leadership, and discussions have begun regarding his future course of action.
