Bihar Congress in Turmoil
During the floor test of the new NDA government in Bihar under the leadership of Nitish Kumar, the Congress party was reluctant to identify itself as the largest disciplined party in Bihar. However, after the RJD did not allocate any seats in the MLC elections, dissent has started to emerge within the Congress party. Congress MLA Pratima Das has raised questions against the state president, leading to discontent within the party.
Internal Conflict in Bihar Congress
Prior to the Lok Sabha elections, there has been growing unrest within the Bihar Congress regarding the MLC elections. Congress MLA Pratima Das has taken a rebellious stance against her own party’s state president, Akhilesh Prasad Singh. She has stated that Singh should stay in Bihar, not in Delhi, and that the truth of the state is not communicated to the central leadership. Das has highlighted dissatisfaction among party workers and leaders due to the lack of MLC allocation despite having 17 MLAs.
Hope for Resolution within Congress
Pratima Das has expressed hope that dedicated party workers who work towards Congress unity will be appointed as MLCs. She believes that even if one out of 100 workers becomes an MLC, it will create a positive atmosphere among the rest. Her statements have caused a stir within the Congress party, with senior leaders expressing surprise. They believe that after the RJD sent Akhilesh Singh to the Rajya Sabha, the party should avoid further conflicts in the state legislative council elections.
