Controversial statements made about Ramcharit Manas have led to the removal of Prof. Chandrashekhar from the position of Education Minister, and Alok Mehta has been appointed as the new Education Minister. Chirag Paswan, the leader of Lok Janshakti Party, criticized Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for this decision, stating that the controversial statements were creating a sense of discrimination in society. He emphasized that the Education Minister should strengthen the foundation of education in the state, promoting unity and bringing people together, transcending caste, religion, and creed.
Chirag Paswan further expressed his dissatisfaction with the way the former Education Minister had incited discrimination and division in society. He believed that strict action should have been taken against him earlier. However, now that he has been removed from the position, it may not send a strong message since he had been consistently making controversial statements.
Chirag Paswan also accused the opposition of turning the construction of the Ram Temple into a political issue. He mentioned that the foundation stone laying ceremony for the temple is scheduled for January 22nd in Ayodhya and he will definitely be present. He stated that the opposition is trying to use the Ram Temple as a political tool and that a new chapter of the Treta Yuga will begin in this Kali Yuga.
In terms of the ministerial changes, two ministers from the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) have been given more important departments compared to their previous positions. Alok Mehta, known for his education and sophistication, has been given the responsibility of the Education Department, which is considered a significant promotion in Bihar. Lalit Kumar Yadav, who already had the responsibility of the PHED, has been given the important departments of Revenue and Land Reforms. These changes signify their progress in the government.
Meanwhile, Prof. Chandrashekhar has been retained as a minister but has been assigned the Sugarcane Industry Department. It is believed that he had conflicts with his senior secretary, K.K. Pathak, which the Chief Minister had already tried to resolve. However, their disagreements and lack of cooperation continued to persist.
