Allegations of Corruption in Pokhar Excavation Work

The excavation work of Pokhar is being done by the MNREGA office in Bhabhua. There are allegations of corruption in this work. In Deeharma village, 1 lakh 45 thousand rupees were illegally withdrawn from a private pond without any work being done. The villagers Kamlesh Singh and Lalji Singh demand clarification from the MNREGA officials regarding this matter.

Questionable Practices in MNREGA Work

The excavation work of Pokhar in Marichanv village is ongoing with an approximate cost of 10 lakh rupees. In the financial year 18-19, the excavation of this pond cost 10 lakh rupees, with the final payment made by March 20, 2020. However, despite claims of excavation, no digging has been done on the ground.

Request for Investigation into MNREGA Activities

The villagers have filed a complaint with the DDSC. The famous Pokhar of the village used to be a source of water for the people in earlier times. The villagers demand action against corrupt officials who have allegedly misused MNREGA funds without completing the work.

Work Stopped Due to Rain

Currently, work has been halted due to rain. MNREGA officer Santosh Kumar confirms that work had been done, and an estimate had been prepared. However, without proper records, it is difficult to determine the progress of the work and the payments made. The excavation work of the Pokhar is ongoing, but it is currently on hold due to the rain.
