Cricket Fever in Patna with IVL Tournament

The city of Patna has been engulfed in cricket fever with the initiation of the IVL tournament on May 10th. Organized by the Nagar Nigam, the Indian Voter League aims to raise awareness about voting among the residents of Patna through cricket matches. The tournament was inaugurated by the Chief Electoral Officer of Bihar, along with other officials, emphasizing the importance of voting during the matches.

Exciting Matches and Special Arrangements

Under the IVL, matches will be held between May 10th to 25th along the stretch from JP Setu Ghat to Gate No. 88 Ghat. The Nagar Nigam has formed a total of 75 teams comprising representatives from various wards, departments, NGOs, officials, journalists, students, and more. Spectators, including first-time voters, are invited to enjoy the matches, which will start in the evening and consist of 6-6 overs.

Special Attractions for Women and Voters

Special arrangements have been made for female spectators, including food courts and laser shows during the matches. The inaugural event featured cultural programs and commentary to encourage voting, with the introduction of pink toilets for the first time at a match venue, managed by a self-help group of women for cleanliness and free usage exclusively for women along the Ganga riverfront.
