In the Gaurichak police station area of Patna, near the Chipura fly mill, late Tuesday night, criminals shot a young man riding a bike. The injured youth was rushed to the Nalanda Medical College Hospital in Patna for treatment, where he unfortunately succumbed to his injuries. The deceased has been identified as Rajiv Ranjan (25), a resident of Digha in Patna. As soon as the information about the incident was received, the police took possession of the body and sent it for post-mortem. The CCTV camera around the crime scene is being examined by the police.

It is being reported that Rajiv Ranjan was on his way to his in-laws’ house in Gaurichak from Digha on his bike late Tuesday night. During this time, the criminals, who had been waiting in advance, shot Rajiv Ranjan. The bullet hit his face and he fell on the spot. After committing the crime, the culprits fled on a motorcycle. Upon hearing the sound of gunshots, the villagers rushed to the scene and admitted the injured youth to the Nalanda Medical College Hospital in Patna for treatment. The doctors declared him dead during treatment. The villagers informed the Gaurichak police station about the incident.
Police Engaged in Investigation after the Incident
As soon as the information was received, the police from Gaurichak police station reached the scene and identified the deceased based on the documents found with the youth as Rajiv Ranjan, a resident of Digha. The police informed Rajiv Ranjan’s family about the incident. The police are now investigating the reasons behind the crime. The entire village is in shock after the incident. Amit Kumar, the in-charge of Gaurichak police station, stated that Rajiv Ranjan had come to his in-laws’ house in Laherpur. Information has been received about his murder. In response to a question, he said that efforts are being made to determine the reasons behind the incident.
