Armed criminals shoot young man during snatching in Bhojpur district
On Saturday night, armed criminals shot a young man during a snatch-and-run incident near Gareya Mathia on Ara-Saraiya road in Bhojpur district. The victim, 26-year-old Mohd. Hussain Hashmi, was hit in his left hand and is currently receiving treatment at Sadar Hospital. The perpetrators, who arrived on a bike, fled the scene after the shooting. Police have started an investigation and are working to identify the culprits.
Incident occurred while returning home from Ara station
The victim’s brother-in-law, Pappu Hashmi, revealed that they were returning home on a bike after Mohd. Hussain Hashmi had finished playing the carnet at a program in Ballia, UP. As they reached near the temple at Gareya Mathia, two armed criminals on a bike forced them to stop and snatched their bag. The bag contained Rs 15,000 in cash and carnet. When the criminals started running away, one of them shot Mohd. Hussain Hashmi before escaping.
Victim brought to hospital with the help of relatives
After the shooting, Pappu Hashmi immediately informed the Mufassil police station and their relatives. The injured victim was then taken to Sadar Hospital for treatment. Pappu Hashmi accused the armed criminals of snatching their belongings and shooting Mohd. Hussain Hashmi. The police are currently investigating the incident and analyzing CCTV footage to apprehend the culprits.
Perpetrators to be arrested soon
SP Pramod Kumar provided details about the incident, stating that it occurred around 11 pm. The victim was returning from a concert with some instruments in a small bag. As he was heading towards Saraiya, two individuals on a bike approached him from behind, snatched the bag, and fired at his hand. The police arrived promptly and admitted him to the hospital, where he is now out of danger. The investigation is ongoing, and the culprits will be apprehended soon.
