Muzaffarpur witnesses massive crowd on third Monday of Sawan
The Baba Garibnath Dham in Muzaffarpur is bustling with devotees on the third Monday of Sawan. The devotees started pouring in early Sunday morning for the jalabhishek. By midnight, a large number of devotees started the jalabhishek through argha. The entire temple resonated with chants of ‘Har Har Mahadev’ and ‘Bol Bam’. By 6.30 am, nearly 6 lakh people had offered water to the deity, with 50-60 thousand devotees still present at the temple. Devotees were lined up for 6km to offer water to the deity.
Chaos ensues as devotees flock to Baba Garibnath temple
The massive influx of devotees on the third Monday at Baba Garibnath temple in Muzaffarpur posed a challenge for the district administration to manage. Initially, there was chaos among devotees, with some Shiv devotees getting injured. Health camps were set up by the district administration and temple authorities to provide medical assistance. The situation was brought under control with the intervention of the DM, SSP, and other officials.
Long queues lead to devotees feeling fatigued
Due to the long queues stretching up to 5km from the temple, many Kanwariyas felt exhausted and distressed. Some even fainted or had difficulty standing in line. With the help of the service team and district administration, the devotees were able to offer water to the deity. The district administration and service teams worked tirelessly to assist devotees and pilgrims throughout the night of August 4.
Devotees gather in large numbers for jalabhishek on third Monday
As the jalabhishek began on the third Monday, over 4 lakh devotees and pilgrims were in long queues waiting to offer water to the deity. The patience of devotees waiting in line broke after the start of the jalabhishek. The head priest of the temple mentioned that the third Monday of Sawan witnesses a higher crowd compared to other Mondays. The jalabhishek will continue till late Monday night.
मुजफ्फरपुर के बाबा गरीबनाथ धाम में सावन की तीसरी सोमवारी पर भक्तों का जनसैलाब उमड़ा है। रात 12 बजे से बड़ी संख्या में डाक बम और शिव भक्त ने अरघा के माध्यम से जलाभिषेक करना शुरू किया। भक्तों में मची भगदड़ती सरी सोमवारी को बाबा नगरी में भक्तों का हुजूम उमड़ा पड़ा है। जिला प्रशासन को संभालने में काफी मुश्किलों का सामना करना पड़ रहा है। भक्तों में अफरा-तफरी की स्थिति मच गई थी और कई शिव भक्त चोटिल हो गए थे। जिला प्रशासन और सेवा दल ने सहयोग करके कांवरिया और श्रद्धालुओं की सेवा में जुटे।
