BJP issues show-cause notice to Jayant Sinha
The Bharatiya Janata Party issued a show-cause notice to former Union Minister Jayant Sinha on Monday. This comes after Sinha did not participate in the election campaign or use his vote in the recent polling after Manish Jaiswal was declared the candidate for the Hazaribagh Lok Sabha seat. The party has asked for clarification from Sinha within two days.
Notice sent by BJP State Secretary
The notice was sent by BJP’s State Secretary Aditya Sahu to Jayant Sinha. Sahu mentioned in the notice that Sinha has shown no interest in organizational work or election campaigning since Manish Jaiswal was declared as the candidate for the Hazaribagh Lok Sabha seat. This lack of involvement has tarnished the party’s image, as per the notice.
Request to stay away from electoral politics
Jayant Sinha had requested the party leadership to relieve him from electoral politics just hours before Manish Jaiswal was announced as the Lok Sabha candidate for Hazaribagh. In a post on March 2, Sinha stated that he will continue working with the party on economic and governance issues and focus on addressing global climate change challenges.
Victory over Congress candidate in 2019
In the 2019 elections, Jayant Sinha defeated Congress candidate Gopal Sahu by a margin of 4.79 lakh votes. Manish Jaiswal had previously contested elections from the Mandu assembly seat on a JVM ticket.
