Encouraging Export of Local Entrepreneurs
The post office in Mithila has taken a commendable initiative to encourage domestic entrepreneurs to export their products abroad. In June and July, 132 entrepreneurs from Mithila have exported items such as food, paintings, and coin-made products at half a dozen rates. The head post office of Darbhanga region in Mithila has taken the lead in exporting materials to foreign countries. Laheriasarai head post office in Darbhanga has exported materials of a total of 99 domestic entrepreneurs in Mithila in the month of July.
Efforts of Darbhanga Post Office
Under the leadership of SS Suman, the superintendent of Darbhanga post office, and marketing executive Vidyānand Kumar, the post office has achieved this milestone. Traditional food items related to Mithila like pickles, Kumrauli badi, Tilauri, Adauri, Makhana, and Rakhi have been exported to countries like Canada, Finland, the United Kingdom, and the United States. At the same time, attractive items made of coins, paintings, and many other materials have also been exported.
Economic Benefits to Entrepreneurs
The highest export has been of Rakhi and Makhana to Canada. This has not only helped in the economic benefit of these entrepreneurs but has also opened new avenues for them. The scheme, which started in May, aims to benefit small entrepreneurs in Mithila and other domestic entrepreneurs. The plan was launched in May, and the export of these materials started in June. Entrepreneurs are encouraged to come forward and take advantage of this opportunity.
