Deceased Woman Found Hanging from a Rope in Bihar’s Jamui District

In the Sonho Thana area of Jamui district in Bihar, the body of a married woman was found hanging from a rope on Wednesday night, causing a sensation in the village. As soon as the news of the incident spread, villagers gathered and informed the local police station. The police arrived at the scene and took possession of the body, sending it to the district hospital for post-mortem examination.

The deceased has been identified as Reema Kumari, a 22-year-old wife of Deepak Das, a resident of Bijuvahi village in the Sonho Thana area. It is reported that Reema’s parents live in Channatand in the Sonho district, and she got married to Deepak Das, son of Krishna Das, two years ago. The marriage went well for a few months, but then Reema’s in-laws started harassing her for dowry. On Wednesday night, villagers found her body hanging from a rope and immediately informed the police.

After the incident, Reema’s husband and in-laws fled from their home. Reema’s uncle, Narayan Das, revealed that her in-laws had been pressuring her for dowry. When he reached their house, he found his niece’s body lying on the ground, and the Sonho police were investigating the whole matter.

Sonho Thana Police Superintendent, Chitranjan Kumar, confirmed that the body of a married woman was found hanging from a rope in Bijuvahi village based on the information given by the villagers. The in-laws have fled from their home. There are allegations of murder for dowry by the deceased’s family, and an investigation is underway.
