The tradition of celebrating Diwali one day in advance is followed in the Benipur block area of Darbhanga, specifically in the Navada village. The entire village celebrates the festival by lighting diyas one day before the actual Diwali day. The sound of firecrackers fills the air as children dance and enjoy the festivities. The people of this village decorate their homes completely in advance of Diwali. As evening falls, the entire village comes alive with the glow of lights. This year, the people of Navada village are also celebrating Diwali on November 11th.
In addition to this, the famous Hatth Matta Jagdamba Temple in Navada village is also being decorated attractively. It is believed that whatever one sincerely asks for from the goddess, Mother Bhagwati, she fulfills.
