Pakode: A Popular Snack Loved by All

Pakode, a crispy and spicy snack, is loved by people in every season. It is commonly made with a mixture of gram flour and onions in most households. However, there are also pakode made without garlic and onions in many places. Who can resist having hot pakode in the winter season? Shiv Bachchan Singh has been serving hot pakode with cauliflower and other seasonal vegetables to people for the past 24 years.

A Variety of Pakode at Shiv Bachchan’s Shop

At Shiv Bachchan’s shop, you can find not only regular pakode but also pakode made with potatoes, onions, and other seasonal vegetables. The pakode made with gram flour and roasted cumin seeds are popular due to their extra crunchiness and delicious taste. Shiv Bachchan mentioned that people eagerly wait to have pakode as an evening snack. People who come to visit Maan Mundeeshwari temple also enjoy having pakode from here. People from different states across the country, not just Bihar, come here to visit the temple. Customers who come to have pakode here have praised the spicy and tangy taste of the cauliflower pakode, which is in season now.

A Daily Consumption of Up to 20 Kilograms of Spicy Pakode

Shiv Bachchan Singh mentioned that the price of one kilogram of spicy pakode is Rs. 140. The shop sells approximately 15 to 20 kilograms of spicy pakode every day. The pakode are served with red chutney. Regarding the process of making pakode, the shop owner explained that first, the cauliflower is thoroughly washed and cut into small pieces. Then, roasted cumin seeds, fennel seeds, and cardamom are mixed with gram flour. Finally, after adding turmeric and various spices, the cauliflower is mixed well with the batter. The pakode are then deep-fried in hot oil and served to customers along with the red chutney.

दिलीप चौबे/कैमूर की दुकान में लोगों को गरमा-गरम गोभी के साथ अन्य सीजनली सब्जियों से बने पकोड़े खिलाए जाते हैं। इस दुकान पर लोग शाम के वक्त नाश्ते के लिए पकौड़े खाने आते हैं और इसकी खपत रोजाना 15 से 20 किलो तक होती है। गोभी को अच्छी तरह से धोकर छोटा-छोटा काटा जाता है और फिर उसे बेसन में भुना हुआ जीरा, सौंप और इलायची के साथ मिलाया जाता है। इसके बाद गोभी को अच्छी तरह से मिलाकर गर्म तेल में तला जाता है और लाल चटनी के साथ परोसा जाता है। इस दुकान के पकोड़े का स्वाद बेहद लाजवाब होता है और यहां के ग्राहकों को पसंद भी आता है।
