Devotees Gather for Holy Bath on Maghi Purnima
On the occasion of Maghi Purnima, devotees gathered at various Ganga ghats in the district to take a holy bath. The devotees began gathering at places like Barari Sairi Ghat, Pul Ghat, Musahari Ghat, etc., for bathing rituals post midnight. They worshipped Mother Ganga, Lord Surya, and other deities with devotion. The heavy crowds led to traffic jams at Tilak Manjhi Chowk, Barari Road, and Kachahri Chowk, but the police had made arrangements to maintain order.
Special Celebrations at Shiv Shakti Temple
Devotees flocked to various temples in the city including Budhanath, Shiv Shakti Temple, Bhootnath Temple, Dugdheswar Nath, Kupehswar Nath, etc., to offer prayers. At the Shiv Shakti Temple in Adamapur, devotees celebrated the birth anniversary of Mata Tripur Sundari with rituals and a grand ceremony. The evening concluded with a festival of lights.
Devotees Engage in Rituals and Celebrations
Different rituals and ceremonies were held in various parts of the city. A statue of Lord Satyanarayan was installed in Naya Bazar for worship. Preparations for Maghi Purnima began a day earlier with prayers and hymns at Sonapatti. The celebrations included chanting sessions and feasting where hundreds of devotees participated. The event saw contributions from various community members and former officials.
Thousands Take a Holy Dip in Ganga on Maghi Purnima
On Maghi Purnima, a large number of devotees gathered at the sacred Uttarvahini Ganga ghat in Sultanaganj to take a holy dip. The devotees, including pilgrims from neighboring states, performed rituals and ceremonies in the purifying waters of the Ganga. The area was secured by barricades set up by the Municipal Council for the safety of the devotees. Special arrangements were made for cleanliness and security, with police and female officers deployed at various points.
माघी पूर्णिमा के दिन भागलपुर और सुलतानगंज के गंगा तटों पर श्रद्धालुओं की भीड़ उमड़ी। लोगों ने मां गंगा, भगवान सूर्य और अन्य देवी-देवताओं की पूजा-अर्चना की। शिवशक्ति मंदिर में माता त्रिपुर सुंदरी की जयंती मनायी गयी और बहुत से मंदिरों में पूजन किया गया। गंगा महाआरती का आयोजन भी किया गया और दो लाख से अधिक श्रद्धालुओं ने गंगा में स्नान किया। इसके साथ ही देवघर में हजारों कांवरियों ने बाबा बैद्यनाथ को जलाभिषेक किया।
