Due to the strike by doctors, patients at PMCH (Patna Medical College and Hospital) were affected as they were unable to receive treatment in the OPD (Outpatient Department). The strike by government doctors in the state caused inconvenience to the patients. In protest against the attack on surgeon Dr. Rajesh Paswan in Purnia, the Indian Medical Association had decided to boycott emergency services and other medical services. The Bihar Health Association (BHA) also supported this decision. On Tuesday, representatives of IMA and JDA (Junior Doctors Association) closed down registrations and shut down the OPD at PMCH. However, the OPD at NMCH (Nalanda Medical College and Hospital) and Patna AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences) functioned as usual. The strike did not have any impact at Mayaganj Hospital in Bhagalpur.
