Convicts Sentenced to Life Imprisonment in Double Murder Case
In a double murder case in the Novamundi area of West Singhbhum district, the court sentenced five accused to life imprisonment on Thursday. The incident took place on January 3, 2021, in a land dispute where Vishnu Puri and Furgun Puri were murdered. The five accused collectively used a pickaxe to commit the heinous crime.
Arrest and Legal Proceedings
The Chaibasa Police arrested all five accused during the investigation and presented evidence scientifically in court. Based on the chargesheet submitted, the honorable court in Chaibasa sentenced the convicts to life imprisonment under sections 302/34 of the Indian Penal Code along with a fine of Rs. 10,000 each.

The convicts, identified as Roya Ray Purti alias Doli, Budhram Tiriya alias Lal Tiriya, Bamun Tiriya alias Motu, Raghunath Tiriya, and Jaypal Tiriya, belong to the village of Todetopa in the Novamundi area of West Singhbhum district.
पश्चिमी सिंहभूम के नोवामुण्डी थाना क्षेत्र में हुई दोहरे हत्याकांड मामले में गुरुवार को न्यायालय ने पांच आरोपियों को आजीवन कारावास की सजा सुनाई है। तीन जनवरी 2021 को आपसी जमीनी विवाद के चलते मृतक विष्णु पुरिड़ा और मृतिका फुरगुन पुरिड़ा को गांव तोड़ेतोपा में हत्या कर दिया गया था। अभियुक्तों को धारा 302 / 34 भादवि में आजीवन कारावास की सजा सुनाई गई।
