Krishna Mohan Singh’s residence was raided by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) team. Following the arrest of RJD supremo Lalu Prasad’s close aide Subhash Yadav, the ED conducted raids at the residence of sand businessmen Poonj Kumar Singh and Krishna Mohan Singh in Bhojpur. The ED team of 6 members conducted a raid at Krishna Mohan Singh’s residence in Anand Nagar Mohalla in the Nagar Thana area. Additionally, another 6-member team was investigating property at Poonj Singh’s mansion in Dhandiha in the Koilwar Thana area. The ED is investigating the unaccounted property of both sand businessmen.
Krishna Mohan Singh is also accused of tax evasion. It is alleged that sand businessman Poonj Kumar Singh was involved in tax evasion of over 250 crores. The ED is taking action based on these allegations. Both Poonj Kumar Singh and Krishna Mohan Singh are directors of Broadson. Krishna Mohan Singh is also accused of being involved in the sand tax evasion worth crores of rupees. During the raids, entry into the premises was strictly prohibited. The ED officers are conducting searches and interrogations related to various documents.
Previous actions were taken against JDU MLA Radha Charan Seth and his son Kanhaiya Kumar by the Enforcement Directorate team in September 2023. Mithilesh Kumar Singh and Jagan Singh have already been arrested and sent to jail. Recently, the ED team also conducted raids at the residence of RJD MLA Arun Kumar Yadav. Furthermore, the ED team put pressure on two major sand businessmen in the district.
All these cases are related to money laundering. The allegations involve Broadson Commodities Private Limited (BCPL) and its directors in illegal sand mining and sale without using e-challans. It is alleged that they were involved in this illegal sand business controlled by a syndicate, which profited from selling illegal sand. Subhash Yadav is referred to as a key member of the syndicate in BCPL by sources. The ED claims that a revenue of 161 crores was earned in this case.
