The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted raids at the residence of Congress MLA Amba Prasad in Ranchi and other locations in the state. After the ED action, Amba Prasad alleged that she had to endure harassment and torture all day. She claimed that ED officials made her stand in one place for hours. The MLA also mentioned that pressure was put on her to accept a Lok Sabha ticket from Hazaribagh, which she ignored.
Amba Prasad, a legislator from Badekaghav, claimed that she was offered a Lok Sabha ticket from Hazaribagh but ignored it, leading to pressure being exerted on her. She mentioned that several RSS-affiliated individuals also pressured her to contest elections, but she chose to ignore them as well. Prasad stated that since they were winning the Badekaghav seat consistently, BJP-RSS supporters see her as a strong leader in Hazaribagh.
The ED conducted searches at Congress MLA Amba Prasad’s residences for nearly 18 hours on Tuesday. Officials searched Amba Prasad’s residence in Ranchi late into the night. The searches were reportedly related to alleged land and transfer-posting scams involving the Congress legislator.
Sources revealed that a complaint regarding financial irregularities against the Congress MLA was filed at the ED’s Ranchi regional office in 2023. Based on the complaint, senior ED officials sought information on all FIRs filed against Amba Prasad from the Jharkhand Police. Following the ED’s communication, the police forwarded a list of cases filed against MLA Amba Prasad in Badekaghav to the ED’s zonal office.
