These centers resemble private play schools. So far, about a dozen buildings have been constructed in Bihar, and the construction work of 32 more buildings is in progress. Under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, instructions have been given to construct Anganwadi centers in various panchayats. This construction work is being done under this scheme.
The Commissioner of Development instructed all the Anganwadi centers to be reviewed and developed in a better way, following the model of Kadwa Diara panchayat. Two centers under construction in Kadwa Diara panchayat were selected during the review of the ongoing projects in Bhagalpur. The model provides education to children through building types and colors, attracting them towards learning, similar to many play schools. Following this model, all Anganwadi centers will be constructed under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act. The construction of all remaining centers is also underway.
In the first phase, 45 Anganwadi centers were to be constructed under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act in Bhagalpur district, which have been completed. In the second phase, 82 centers are to be constructed. The construction of 32 centers has already begun, and land is being marked for 50 centers. Two centers have been completed in Kadwa Diara of Navagachiya. These centers have cost around nine lakh rupees. Centers in Khutaha and Mohanpur of Goradih, Ismailpur East Bhitha of Ismailpur, Hajipur of Shahkund, and Gotkhari of Khariak have also been completed, and painting work is in progress.
