At Dehri Love Station, a serious accident was narrowly avoided when an 81-year-old man, Shivkumar Singh, was trying to get off the Sasaram–Dhanbad Express. This happened around 4:15 pm when the train stopped at platform number 04. The elderly man was struggling to get down with the help of his son because he had a plaster on his leg.
As the train doors opened, the old man lost his balance and was about to fall between the moving train and the platform. Thankfully, RPF personnel on duty noticed him and rushed over to catch him just in time, preventing what could have been a tragic incident.
Constable Vikas Kumar saw the commotion and quickly alerted the train manager. Hearing the shouts and seeing the crowd, the manager immediately stopped the train. The RPF team then worked together to pull the old man to safety on the platform.
After the incident, the elderly passenger shared that he was coming back from Sadar Hospital in Sasaram with his grandson after getting his leg treated. He expressed his gratitude for the quick action that saved him from a possible fall.
Other passengers at the station praised the RPF for their swift response and bravery. Their alertness and quick thinking ensured that a life was saved that day, highlighting the importance of safety measures at railway stations.
