Introduction

In Bhagalpur district, residents will now be able to enjoy the convenience of AC buses at affordable rates. The preparations for running electric buses in the district have been accelerated, with plans to operate 50 electric buses and set up charging stations. These electric buses will be operated as city bus services, providing easy and affordable transportation around the city.

Charging Stations and Bus Routes

The authorities have completed all necessary procedures for the buses, and as soon as the charging points are ready, the buses will be operational. Each electric bus can cover a distance of 180 kilometers on a single charge, making it convenient for transportation in and around the city. Additionally, plans are underway to connect Bhagalpur with other districts through diesel and CNG buses, ensuring easy access to government rates for inter-state travel.

Permits and Future Plans

Unlike traditional buses, electric buses do not require permits, making it easier to operate them in different areas. Route charts and timings are being prepared for the remaining buses, with discussions with the electricity department underway to set up charging stations. The Tilakamanjhi bus depot in Bhagalpur will house underground charging points, ensuring quick and efficient charging for the buses. Plans are also in place to establish charging points in Munger and Jamui for added convenience.
