Sachidanand/Patna: The weather in Bihar continues to be harsh, with freezing temperatures affecting the entire state, including the capital city. Within 24 hours, there has been a significant drop in temperatures. The sudden cold spell is due to icy winds blowing across Bihar at a speed of 25 km/h.
According to the meteorological center, dense fog has enveloped Bihar since morning, with a cold wave in South Bihar and a chilly day in North Bihar. Districts like Bhabhua, Aurangabad, Arwal, Rohtas, Gaya, Nawada, Jamui, Banka, Bhagalpur, Khagaria, Munger, Begusarai, Lakhisarai, Sheikhpura, Nalanda, Patna, Jehanabad, Arwal, and Bhojpur are experiencing dense fog and cold wave conditions, while the rest of the districts are facing a chilly day. This weather pattern is expected to continue until January 15.
The current temperature in Bihar ranges from a maximum of 16 to 18 degrees Celsius to a minimum of 6 to 8 degrees Celsius. In light of these conditions, the meteorological center has issued a special alert for the elderly during the cold wave. People are advised to wear warm clothes, consume warm drinks, and keep a fire burning for warmth.
During the past 24 hours, Bihar has experienced dry weather, with no recorded rainfall except for dense fog in a few places in Purnia and Valmikinagar districts. The majority of Bihar has experienced light to moderate fog in the morning. A cold day has been recorded in Forbisganj, Araria district.
In the last 24 hours, there has been a decrease of 3-4 degrees Celsius in both maximum and minimum temperatures. The highest maximum temperature in the state was recorded at 22.2 degrees Celsius in Forbisganj, while the lowest minimum temperature was recorded at 4.9 degrees Celsius in Gaya. The average maximum temperature in Bihar was 19.1 degrees Celsius, and the average minimum temperature was 8.4 degrees Celsius.
